I finally got a Sister!
October 19th, my brother said "I do" to the woman that he calls his best friend and partner in crime. I was fortunate enough to be apart of and take witness to this fine occasion as well as, take polaroids on top of polaroids of family and friends in which some I hadn't seen in over a decade! Life, Love and Laughter happened in a big way and there was nothing or anywhere else I'd rather been than in Tucson AZ celebrating.

Being the sibling, both Wyatt and Alyssa asked me to do a reading and to make a speech. Here's what I had to say:
Reading: Excerpt from The Alchemist “When he looked into her eyes, he learned the most important part of the language that all the world spoke — the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart. It was love. Something older than humanity, more ancient than the desert. What the boy felt at that moment was that he was in the presence of the only woman in his life, and that, with no need for words, she recognized the same thing. Because when you know the language, it’s easy to understand that someone in the world awaits you, whether it’s in the middle of the desert or in some great city. And when two such people encounter each other, the past and the future become unimportant. There is only that moment, and the incredible certainty that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only. It is the hand that evokes love, and creates a twin soul for every person in the world. Without such love, one’s dreams would have no meaning.”
My Speech:
Wyatt, Wyatt, Wyatt!
To me you are the ultimate guy’s guy. You embody everything cool, from your wit to your sense of adventure. You are kind, sincere and always wanting the best for the ones around you.
They say you can tell a lot about a person by what they choose to see in you.
I remember asking Alyssa why you, why Wyatt (nice right?!) yet her response showed her softness and genuine truth about him; in the fact that she said: “He’s sweet, respectable and cute. I met your brother and I thought I want to date someone like that…” Well, turns out she got more than a date… It might have taken 8 years but she got herself a husband!
See my brother and I grew up in a house where my mother was treated like she was the only thing in the world that mattered. That not only my brother and I needed to respect but that my father would do anything and everything to make her happy, never raising a hand and always backing down when knowing she wasn’t. My dad said you treat the one you want to be with the best that you can, stand up when you need to but always show love even if you’re angry or hurt. I know we both took this to heart. I also know that even though my brother is younger than me he’s always taken care of me as if the tables were turned.
Growing up different wasn’t easy for me but having a partner in crime made it a lot easier. Wyatt always has stood up for me, went to bat of me and almost always let me tag along (even when I knew he wanted me to get my own friends).
There are plenty of examples of him helping me but I remember this one time, that I was outside after school and saw 5 kids riding bikes in circles waiting around… my brother ended up getting off the bus and they wanted to start something with him and his 2 friends and seeing that this was an unfair advantage I started to come closer and he told me to go home… I thought go home… He’s crazy… he said it again and I went running but not to hide… I grabbed a handful of bottle rockets and came running back out and started setting them off (which made me think, now I'm the crazy one). But that’s what we did, we always had and have each other’s backs and now that Alyssa is apart of the family… Well… just know that if you need help burying bodies you have someone to call!
But all joking aside. The adventure started when you two met and now you get to sail into bigger seas and I only hope that you enjoy life’s waves. For life is truly about our connections, our experiences and the chances we take in life to live and being able to and actually finding our soulmates is the greatest adventures so with that, I am beyond blessed and thankful to welcome the Aceto family into ours.

May we all take a note and raise our sails, explore the world with wonder and surround ourselves with light and love that ultimately serves our greater purpose. That being said: Congratulations to you both and to our family's.
